Pendidikan Keselamatan Diri Anak Usia Dini (Studi Kasus di Kelompok B RA An Nisaa’ Kota Batam)

This research was motivated by the frequent occurrence of accidents in young children. As subjects who need to be protected, children must be given knowledge as well as attitudes and behavior related to their personal safety. One way to keep young children away from danger is to increase their understanding of risks and ways to handle dangerous situations through personal safety education. This study aims to describe the implementation of personal safety education in early childhood and assess the results in RA An Nisaa’. This research is a case study that uses a qualitative approach with an exploratory descriptive nature. This research was carried out from August to October 2022 and involved all children (34 people). The results of the research show that the way to teach personal safety in RA An Nisaa’ is the PAUD Watching method. This method is the result of model development from BP PAUD & Dikmas Batam City. The process consists of learning about hazards, conducting hazard surveys, creating hazard maps, and learning how to avoid hazards. Children can take part in personal safety education. However, there are still 19% of children who are just starting to be able to describe potential dangers. Personal safety education in RA An Nisaa’ can help children understand dangers and how to avoid them.
